Miami Marlins manager Don Mattingly was named the National League Manager of the Year on Tuesday for leading the team to their first playoff appearance in 17 years despite the COVID-19 pandemic threatening to derail the entire season. Mattingly was the fifth person in history to win the award after being named Most Valuable Player, joining Frank Robinson, Don Baylor, Kirk Gibson and Joe Torre. The season was three days old when a COVID-19 outbreak sidelined 18 members of the original 30-man roster. The Marlins then played 49 games in 47 days after eight days off to snap a streak of 10 straight losing seasons. Padres manager Jayce Tingler finished second with six first-place votes, followed by Cubs skipper David Ross (one first-place vote).--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
