Dodgers Trying To Acquire Dylan Cease
1 year agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers are in trade talks with the Chicago White Sox in an attempt to land right-hander Dylan Cease. The Dodgers badly need pitching help this offseason, and the White Sox are trying to rebuild their roster. General manager Chris Getz straight up said the team is "willing to listen in on any of our players" this winter. The 27-year-old Cease took a big step back in his fifth big-league season with the Pale Hose in 2023, especially after a career-best 2.20 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 32 starts in 2022. In his 33 starts for Chicago this past season, Cease struggled to the tune of a 4.58 ERA (3.72 FIP), 1.42 WHIP, 79 walks and 214 strikeouts in 177 innings. He'd be much more attractive in LA's starting rotation, especially with his strikeout upside, but he needs to lower his walk rate to be less volatile as a fantasy commodity.
