Dodgers Prefer To Keep Justin Turner At Third Base
4 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers are interested in free-agent second baseman DJ LeMahieu, but their first third base choice remains Justin Turner. The veteran third baseman is reportedly seeking a four-year deal, but the Dodgers so far prefer to bring him back for just two years. The 36-year-old hit .302/.382/.503 (139 OPS+) in the last seven seasons with the Dodgers with 116 home runs and 28.9 Wins Above Replacement in 796 games. Josh Donaldson was awarded a four-year, $92 million deal from the Twins last offseason, but that wasn't in the middle of a pandemic and Donaldson was coming off his age-33 season when he signed. Turner also makes sense as a short-term solution for the Blue Jays at the hot corner.
