Derrick Jones Jr. Questionable On Thursday
12 months agoDallas Mavericks small forward Derrick Jones Jr. (quadriceps) might be forced to sit out a second consecutive game on Thursday versus Minnesota, as the team considers him questionable. Jones Jr. injured his right quadriceps Monday versus Memphis and couldn't take the court Tuesday versus the Lakers. He was playing his best basketball of the season before getting hurt, so it's a bitter blow for the 26-year-old, who's been a starter in 21 of his 22 appearances in 2023-24. Grant Williams took Jones Jr.'s position in the starting unit as he returned from injury on Tuesday, while Dante Exum and Jaden Hardy should also continue to benefit if Jones Jr. doesn't return on Thursday.
