Denard Span Hitting .280 Since Joining Mariners
7 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Denard Span is slashing .280/.280/.320 in 25 at-bats since being acquired via trade from the Rays. Span will need some time to get fully comfortable in his new surroundings, especially after uprooting his family from his hometown of Tampa. When he does, Span will bring a veteran presence and high on-base percentage to the Mariners mix in the outfield. In 143 at-bats this season in Tampa, Span posted a .364 on-base percentage with 28 walks to only 24 strikeouts. The last two seasons have arguably been Span's best as a pro, hitting a combined 23 home runs with 96 runs batted in. Span's change of address has briefly dinged his fantasy value for now, but he could be on the rise in the coming weeks.
