New York Yankees right-handed pitcher Deivi Garcia will be summoned to the active roster for Sunday’s doubleheader against the Mets and will make his Major League debut. Garcia, the club’s No. 3 prospect per MLB Pipeline, stands just 5-foot-9 and 163 pounds, but was touted as highly as the No. 24 prospect in the Majors entering 2020 by Baseball Prospectus. He amassed a gaudy 165 strikeouts across 111 ⅓ innings in the Minors last year (across three levels), posting a 4.28 ERA in 26 appearances. The move appears to be primarily in response to the club playing two doubleheaders in one weekend, so his outlook for the remainder of the season remains murky, although it’s always possible that he pitches his way into the mix permanently.--Jesse Borek
