Deebo Samuel Sr. 2024 Outlook: Same Tantalizing Upside, Same Injury Concerns
3 months agoDeebo Samuel Sr. enters the 2024 season with much the same outlook as he has had in recent years. A phenomenal talent with elite upside but a long history of injuries, likely due to his playstyle. Samuel is a WR used often as an RB, a position that takes a big beating. Since being drafted, Deebo has suffered a Jones fracture, groin strain, hamstring strains, a calf strain, ankle sprains, knee sprains, a shoulder fracture, and more. Samuel has only played 16 games in a season once in his career. Despite this, Samuel's upside is just too great to ignore. Samuel regularly produces boom weeks; in 2023, he posted 6 games with 20+ PPR points and went on a heater in weeks 12-15, averaging 28.5 PPR points per game over that stretch. Deebo is in the same offense with the same QB and the same HC/OC. Not much has changed about his situation, so we should expect more of the same from Deebo: a dual-threat player who presents huge upside due to his involvement in both the receiving and running game for an elite offense, but one that is injured far too often.
