Darnell Mooney Dealing With Back Injury
3 years agoChicago Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney (back) was a limited practice participant on Wednesday due to a back injury. Mooney was able to escape training camp and the preseason without any injuries, but he's nursing a back injury that doesn't sound too serious ahead of a Week 1 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. As long as he doesn't have a setback later this week, we'd expect Mooney to be active for the regular season opener. The 23-year-old impressed in his rookie season with 61 catches for 631 yards and four touchdowns while showing excellent speed and route-running abilities. Mooney has value as a WR4/flex in deeper leagues as the No. 2 in Chicago behind Allen Robinson II, although the Bears passing game could struggle against a Rams defense that allowed the fewest fantasy points to receivers per game (15.7) in 2020.
