Cowboys Preparing To Be Without Ezekiel Elliott
4 years agoThe Dallas Cowboys are preparing to be without running back Ezekiel Elliott (hamstring) in Week 9 against the Steelers. The team elevated fullback Sewo Olonilua from the practice squad on Saturday for more backfield depth behind Tony Pollard and rookie Rico Dowdle if Elliott is indeed inactive on Sunday. Head coach Mike McCarthy said that Elliott will have a pre-game workout before they make a final decision. If Zeke is officially inactive on Sunday, Pollard would likely see the vast majority of the backfield touches, although he'll be a low-upside RB3/flex against an elite Steelers Defense with Garrett Gilbert under center for the Cowboys.
