Corey Seager Could Play In Cactus League Games
9 months agoTexas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (hernia), who had sports-hernia surgery in January, could get some Cactus League at-bats before the end of spring training. "I'm hopeful," manager Bruce Bochy said. "To be honest, I don't know for sure. He caught the flu -- that probably slowed things down just a hair. But we'll see where we're at by the end of this week." Despite going on the injured list twice in 2023, Seager was the runner-up for the American League MVP award after finishing with a .327/.390/.623 slash line, a career-high 1.013 OPS, 33 home runs, 96 RBI and 88 runs scored in 119 games. The four-time All-Star and World Series MVP might open the year on the injured list, but he should still be considered a top-five fantasy shortstop.
