Corbin Carroll Wins NL Rookie Of The Year Award
1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll was unanimously named the 2023 National League Rookie of the Year on Monday. Carroll displayed his elite speed and surprising power for a player that stands at just 5-foot-10, 165 pounds on his way to helping the D-backs get all the way to the World Series this fall. The 23-year-old hit 25 home runs and stole 54 bases in 2023, making him the first-ever rookie to reach those marks in his first full MLB season. Carroll also led all NL rookies with a 5.4 bWAR and all MLB rookies with a 6.0 fWAR. He is the first winner of this award in the franchise's history. Carroll slashed .285/.362/.506 with an .868 OPS, 76 RBI and 116 runs scored in 565 at-bats.
