The Chicago Blackhawks have re-upped with defenseman Connor Murphy on four-year, $17.6 million contract extension ($4.4 million average annual value) on Tuesday. With one year remaining on his current contract, Murphy's new deal will kick in at the start of the 2022-2023 campaign. The 28-year-old posted 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) to go along with a plus-one rating, 78 shots, 102 hits and 123 blocks in 50 games with the Hawks last season. Given his limited contribution in the offensive zone, Murphy likely only provides value as a depth defenseman in deeper fantasy formats at this point. --Chase Davis - RotoBaller
