Cole Kmet Likely To Receive Extension This Offseason
1 year agoChicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet is the most likely to receive a contract extension from the team this offseason with one year remaining on his rookie deal. "I thought he elevated his game from the film that I watched last year to what it was this year," general manager Ryan Poles said. "So that's exciting." Kmet's receptions (50) and receiving yards (544) declined in 2022, but he also went from no touchdowns in 2021 to seven this past season. He also plays an important role in Chicago's league-leading running game. The 23-year-old should only get better the more time he spends with quarterback Justin Fields, too, so Kmet's fantasy arrow is pointing up as a lower-end TE1 for the 2023 season.
