Christopher Bell May Fly Under the Radar at Michigan Due to Awful Track Record
4 months agoDue to qualifying getting rained out on Saturday and the starting lineup being set by the performance metric, Christopher Bell will start from third-place in this weekend's FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway. Despite that, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver could still potentially fly under the radar on Sunday. Believe it or not, Christopher Bell has never finished better than 13th at Michigan in his Cup Series career. This weekend's race will be his sixth attempt at the track. With that being said, Bell led 31 laps in the first Next Gen race here back in 2022, and has been strong at similar tracks this season, including a dominating effort at Charlotte in this year's Coca-Cola 600. Bell also walked away with a top-five finish at Indianapolis this season, another high-horsepower track. He's been known to be one of those "surprise dominator" drivers in a lot of races, so it's worth having some DFS exposure to Bell this weekend, but he's not the clear favorite in Michigan on Sunday.
