Christian Watson Expected To Have A Bigger Role
2 years agoESPN's Jeremy Fowler expects the Green Bay Packers to continue to make rookie wide receiver Christian Watson a major part of their game plan moving forward after he broke out with three touchdowns in the Week 10 overtime win against the Dallas Cowboys. Green Bay traded up to take Watson with the 34th overall pick this year because they thought he could help fill the void left by Davante Adams' departure. The Packers have always had high hopes for Watson, but injuries and inconsistency have kept him from playing a major role until now. The eight targets he saw on Sunday should be a sign of things to come, and Watson's speed makes him very dangerous deep down the field. The 23-year-old should be a popular waiver-wire pickup this week despite the impending return of veteran Randall Cobb (ankle).
