3 years agoCarolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) returned to the practice field on Wednesday, his first on-field work since straining his hamstring against the Houston Texans on Sept. 23 in Week 3. It's good news, but the real indicator of McCaffrey's status for Week 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles will come on Thursday. McCaffrey entered Week 3 as the leader in yards from scrimmage, and he ranks 13th with 364 scrimmage yards entering Week 5. CMC, the consensus No. 1 overall pick in most fantasy leagues, is a must-start anytime he's on the field. But if he misses another game this Sunday, rookie Chuba Hubbard should be the primary back in Carolina's backfield for another game.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
