Christian Kirk Headed To Injured Reserve
1 year agoJacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Christian Kirk (core, groin) will be placed on Injured Reserve and will need surgery on the core-muscle/groin injury he suffered in Monday night's overtime loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Kirk was injured on the first offensive play of the game for the Jaguars and is expected to miss anywhere from six to eight weeks, so we probably won't see him again this season for Jacksonville. The 27-year-old will be required to miss at least four games while on IR. In his absence, Calvin Ridley and Zay Jones should serve as the top two wideouts for the Jaguars, with rookie Parker Washington likely to have a bigger role as the No. 3 receiver. Tight end Evan Engram will also see more targets in the passing game, but it might not matter much until quarterback Trevor Lawrence returns from a high-ankle sprain he suffered on Monday.
