Chris Taylor Moves Into Cleanup Spot Monday
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers utility player Chris Taylor will move up into the cleanup spot on Monday versus the New York Mets and left-hander David Peterson. Taylor hit out of the five-hole in his first start of the season but has hit no higher than seventh in 10 starts since. The Dodgers are stacking right-handed bats against Peterson on Monday and with catcher Will Smith injured it's Taylor who stands to get a big opportunity to hit behind the club's best offensive players. It's been an interesting season so far for the veteran who has just five hits in 43 trips to the plate with four of them going for home runs. He's hitting just .135 without a steal along with a massive 38.1% K% in 12 games, a concerning trend considering he punched out in a career-worst 35.2% of his plate appearances last season. Taylor will start in left field for the third time this season.
