Chase Elliott Looks To Build On Momentum At Bristol
5 years agoHendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott finally avoided a litany of situations that kept him from capturing the checkered flag, and won Thursday's NASCAR Cup Series race at Charlotte. The win was Elliott's seventh of his career and comes a couple of nights after also winning the Truck Series race. Elliott, who ranks third among active drivers in driver rating (95.9) at Bristol Motor Speedway, will start sixth in Sunday's Food City presents the Supermarket Heroes 500 at Bristol. In eight previous starts at BMS, Elliott has three top-fives and boasts an average finish of 11.5. If not for Kyle Busch's optimistic move at Darlington, Elliott could be working on a streak of six straight top-10's going into Bristol. Elliott will be an expensive option in DFS, but the No. 9 team has momentum on their side and the floodgates to victory lane may very well have opened.
