Chase Elliott Has Late Blunder, Finishes 22nd At Bristol
5 years agoHendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott was just a couple of laps away from his second straight Cup Series victory before he tangled with Joey Logano while battling for the win in the 2020 Food City Supermarket Heroes 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Elliott got loose underneath Logano and both drivers ended up finishing outside the top 20, with Elliott coming home 22nd. Elliott came into Sunday's race at BMS with a ton of momentum and he picked up right where he left off by leading 88 laps and winning both stages. The finish was a disappointing end to anyone who rostered Elliott in DFS, as he had the best average running position of any driver during the race, in fourth. Elliott will try to put this one behind him as he heads to his hometown track, Atlanta Motor Speedway, next Sunday.
