Chase Edmonds Ready To Be The Starter
4 years agoArizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury feels that running back Chase Edmonds can be an every-down back in the NFL, and Edmonds will enter training camp this summer as the team's No. 1 back after they let Kenyan Drake walk in free agency and didn't spend a single draft pick at the position. The 25-year-old has shown promise as the backup to David Johnson and Drake in the last three years. "I'm ready to run through a damn wall. I'm really ready to prove myself right," Edmonds said. He carried the ball 97 times for 448 yards and a touchdown while adding 53 catches for 402 yards and four more scores last year. The former fourth-rounder has averaged 4.8 yards per carry in two seasons under Kingsbury, but he hasn't seen consistent work. James Conner will factor in on short-yardage situations and could steal some goal-line looks, but Edmonds definitely has intriguing upside in PPR leagues in this offense.
