Charlie Morton Aims To Stop Astros Losing Streak
6 years agoHouston Astros starter Charlie Morton (11-2) will look to snap the Astros five-game losing streak when he faces the Mariners Tuesday night in Seattle. Morton has been fantastic all season, posting a career-best 11.48 K/9 and a 1.16 WHIP. The veteran has slowed down a touch this month (4.37 ERA in July) but has been almost unbeatable pitching at night this season. In 14 night starts, Morton is 8-1 with a 2.83 ERA while holding opponents to a .197 batting average. The 34-year-old right-hander is charged with being a slump-buster Tuesday night and is a solid play in DFS leagues.
