Casey Mittelstadt Picks Up Assist in First Career Game
7 years agoBuffalo Sabres center Casey Mittelstadt played in his first NHL game on Thursday night in a 6-3 loss to the Detroit Red Wings. Mittelstadt assisted on a goal by Evan Rodrigues in the third period, but only recorded one shot on net in his debut. Mittelstadt primarily played on a line with Rodrigues and Sam Reinhart, however, he also saw time with Sabres star Jack Eichel. After his standout performance in the World Junior Championships earlier this year, it is encouraging to see Mittelstadt get favorable deployment in Buffalo already. There is no need to rush and pick him up now, but keep an eye on the talented 19-year-old going into next season.
