Carlos Rodon May Not Need Second Injection
2 years agoAs of right now, New York Yankees left-hander Carlos Rodon (back) doesn't need a second-round injection in his back, according to manager Aaron Boone. Wednesday is a scheduled no-throw day for Rodon. The Yankees scheduled the cortisone-like shot for midway through this week in case he needs it, but right now it doesn't look like Rodon needs it. The 30-year-old southpaw threw on flat ground last Friday, Saturday and Monday, so he appears to be making progress from a back injury that has slowed him down since mid-April. Still, it's something that Rodon may have to deal with for the rest of this season, and it remains to be seen when he'll embark on a minor-league rehab assignment. At best, Rodon might not be ready to make his 2023 debut for the Yanks until around the middle of June.
