Carlos Estevez Picks Up Ninth Save On Monday
6 months agoLos Angeles Angels right-hander Carlos Estevez threw a scoreless ninth inning to preserve a 2-1 win over the San Diego Padres on Monday. Estevez needed just 10 pitches to send the Padres down in order on the way to earning his ninth save of the season. The 31-year-old has had an up-and-down season as the Angels' closer as he has a 4.50 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 18 strikeouts over 18 innings of work with three blown saves. While his ERA is an eyesore, Estevez is a source for saves and strikeouts and, as such, is worth a roster spot in fantasy leagues moving forward.
