Carlos Correa Starting To Square Up The Baseball
4 years agoHouston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa will take the field Tuesday against the A's with hopes of continuing his recent surge at the plate. Correa is 7-for-17 (.411) over his last five games with one double, one home run, three runs batted in, five walks and eight runs scored. Correa is still hitting .173 overall in the month of May, but he is beginning to string some productive games together. The 26-year-old has been very streaky through the first portion of the season, and his .430 slugging percentage certainly is below his career average. The impending free agent's arrow is pointing up, but fantasy managers need to be cognizant that Correa is slashing only .224/.288/.343 in road games. The Astros play in Oakland on Tuesday night.
