Victor Robles Remains Confident He Will Return This Season
Victor Robles (shoulder) has been hitting in the cage for a few days, and he moved to hitting on the field on Wednesday for the first time. He is also throwing out to 150 feet, and the next step in his recovery will be sliding and diving. Robles has been sidelined since April 6, when he fractured and dislocated his shoulder by crashing into netting in San Francisco while making an exceptional catch. Last month, Mariners General Manager Justin Hollander said that Robles isn't expected back until September, but he could start a rehab assignment in the next few weeks and be ready to return early in the final month of the season if all continues to go according to plan. Robles joined the Mariners in the middle of last season and was a productive part of their outfield and lineup before the injury.
