Penn State Working to Hire D'Anton Lynn as Next Defensive Coordinator
Penn State is expected to hire USC defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn to the same role in State College, according to On3Sports. Lynn has spent the last two seasons running USC's defense after one year as UCLA's defensive coordinator. Before entering the college ranks in 2023, he worked with the Jets, Bills, Texans, and Ravens in various defensive roles. After the Trojans gave up 432.8 yards per game and 34.4 points per game in 2023, Lynn was hired and helped improve USC's defense to allow under 370 yards per game and under 25 points per game in each of the last two seasons. Lynn played at Penn State for four seasons as a cornerback from 2008 to 2011, tallying 162 tackles, seven tackles for loss, four interceptions, and one fumble recovery. This will be a homecoming for the 36-year-old under new Nittany Lions head coach Matt Campbell.
