Carlos Correa Snaps Slump With Third Home Run
6 years agoHouston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa smacked his third home run of the season Sunday in the Astros 11-10 loss to the Rangers. Correa came into the game with only three hits in his previous 23 at-bats before Correa smoked a line-drive laser into the left field seats in the eighth inning. It has been a streaky start to the season for the 24-year-old shortstop who is trying to have a bounce back year after suffering through a back injury in 2017. It is very early but Correa will need to improve upon a .227 batting average with runners in scoring position as the team opens up a home series against the Twins on Monday night. Correa has seen only 23 at-bats thus far at Minute Maid Park this season but is slashing .304/.385/.609 in six home games.
