Carlos Correa Not Expected Back In Houston
Carlos Correa mentioned that this is his "last year with the Astros," but the writing was on the wall when the team offered him $120 million (and then $125 million), which was just over one-third of the $341 million that the New York Mets gave shortstop Francisco Lindor. On top of it, the 26-year-old was an All-Star for the second time this year and is hitting a cool .278/.371/.479 with an .850 OPS, 19 home runs, 68 RBI and 83 runs scored in 502 plate appearances over 116 games. There's a good chance that Correa will surpass his career-high 24 home runs set in 2017, his first All-Star season with Houston. Expect Correa's name to be added to an already stacked group of shortstops set to reach the open market this winter.
