5 years agoLos Angeles Rams rookie running back Cam Akers, drafted 52nd overall in the second round with the team's first pick, forced 74 missed tackles on rushes last year at Florida State, which tied him for ninth-most in college football, per Pro Football Focus. He should have immediate opportunity in a Rams backfield that is now without Todd Gurley II. Los Angeles' suspect offensive line didn't do their backs any favors last year, but Akers operated and produced behind a well below-average offensive line in college, so that shouldn't be a huge deterrent when considering his fantasy value. The 20-year-old has a better all-around game than Darrell Henderson, but a potential timeshare -- Malcolm Brown will be involved too -- has Akers projected as NFL Network's Cynthia Frelund's RB36 in PPR leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
