Cal Raleigh Sitting Out Friday
2 years agoSeattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh is not in the team's starting lineup against a left-handed hurler on Friday against the Detroit Tigers. Raleigh is a switch-hitting backstop, but he has only made two starts so far in 2023 against southpaws. With Raleigh starting on the bench on Friday, Tom Murphy will get the nod behind the plate and will hit seventh in the M's lineup against Tigers left-hander Matthew Boyd. The 26-year-old Raleigh has plenty of power at a weak position, but he's not going to help fantasy managers' team batting average. He's currently hitting .212 (24-for-113) with five doubles, a triple, five home runs, 18 RBI and 18 runs scored in 127 plate appearances and 32 games.
