The Chicago Cubs drafted right-handed pitcher Cade Horton from the University of Oklahoma with the seventh overall pick in the 2022 MLB draft. The 20-year-old has a fastball that sits in the 94-95 mph range and has topped out at 98 mph, but he's also known for his dominant slider, which hits 90 mph. He underwent Tommy John surgery prior to attending Oklahoma and missed the entirety of the 2021 season, but he showed some flashes of promise during the 2022 campaign. He helped Oklahoma reach the College World Series while compiling 49 strikeouts across 31 postseason innings, posting a 2.61 postseason ERA along the way.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
