Bryce Miller Throws Gem But Picks Up No-Decision
4 months agoSeattle Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller deserved much more than a no-decision on Thursday in an eventual 2-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. Miller dazzled by throwing seven shutout innings while giving up only two hits, walking none and striking out nine to drop his season ERA to 3.29. It continues to theme of the Mariners getting excellent outings from their starting pitchers, but with little run support from the offense. The 25-year-old Miller hasn't given up a run in his last two starts, spanning 13 innings, while striking out 15 and giving up only five hits. He's now 9-7 in 2024 with a 3.29 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 128 strikeouts and only 31 walks in 139 2/3 innings pitched over 24 starts. Even in what sets up as a difficult matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers next time out, Miller will be hard to keep out of fantasy lineups.
