The Cleveland Browns relieved defensive coordinator Joe Woods of his duties on Monday, according to a source. The team has already requested permission to interview New England Patriots linebackers coach Jerod Mayo for the position. Woods had been the defensive coordinator under head coach Kevin Stefanski sine 2020. Cleveland made the postseason that year for the first time since 2002, but their defense has started slow each of the last two seasons and was ranked 31st in defensive efficiency at one point in October.
