Broncos Restructure Mike Purcell's Contract
1 year agoThe Denver Broncos restructured defensive tackle Mike Purcell's contract on Thursday and moved $1.25 million to playing-time incentives. Purcell was scheduled to make $3.5 million in salary and per-game roster bonuses this year, but that number will now be at $2.25 million, with the other $1.25 million tied to performance bonuses, starting at 25 percent of the defensive snaps. The 32-year-old is entering his fifth year in Denver. In 17 games (four starts) last year, he had 45 tackles (21 solo), a career-high 1.5 sacks, four QB hits and a fumble recovery for the Broncos. Purcell recovered from an offseason procedure on his knee and should be ready to start the 2023 regular season in a rotational role on the interior of Denver's defensive line.
