Broncos Preparing Brett Rypien Just In Case
2 years agoDenver Broncos backup quarterback Brett Rypien took most of the walkthrough repetitions at practice on Wednesday, according to sources. It doesn't mean that Russell Wilson (hamstring) won't start in Week 7 against the New York Jets, it just means that the Broncos are getting Rypien ready just in case Wilson cannot go on Sunday. Rypien has made one NFL start in his career against the Jets in 2020. Wilson had an MRI exam on Tuesday after tweaking his hamstring in the Week 6 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, but the results didn't show any structural damage and he was limited in Wednesday's practice. Barring a setback, the 33-year-old should have a good shot at playing against the Jets, although he's fallen off the QB1 radar due to a rough start in his first six games in Denver.
