Brewers Acquire Bryse Wilson From Pirates
2 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers acquired right-hander Bryse Wilson from the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations. In a corresponding move, the Brewers designated pitcher Trevor Kelley for assignment. Wilson had a tough year in 2022 in his first full year in Pittsburgh, going 3-9 with a 5.52 ERA (5.06 FIP), 1.42 WHIP and 15.5 percent strikeout rate in a career-high 115 2/3 innings over 25 appearances (20 starts) for the Bucs. It spurred the team to designate him for assignment last week, but Wilson quickly lands on his feet in Milwaukee. He'll be hoping his strong finish to the year will vault him to a good showing in spring training with his new squad, but at best, Wilson will likely be a spot starter/long reliever for the Brew Crew.
