Brett Rypien Has His Ups And Downs In Win Over Jets
4 years agoDenver Broncos quarterback Brett Rypien, making his first NFL start on Thursday night against the Jets, had some good and bad moments in the 37-28 victory. Rypien went 19-for-31 for 242 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) to help the team to their first win of the season. He made some nice throws at times, albeit against a bad Jets Defense, and also made some head-scratching decisions with the football. His first touchdown to rookie wideout Jerry Jeudy was a jump ball deep down the sideline that Jeudy made a nice play on. Rypien likely held off Jeff Driskel with his performance, but Drew Lock (shoulder) has a chance to return in Week 5 against the Patriots, so this might be a short-lived starting moment for Rypien.
