Braves Considering Trey Mancini
4 years agoThe Atlanta Braves have kicked the tires on Baltimore Orioles star outfielder Trey Mancini. Nothing is serious between the two sides yet, but the Braves are still trying to improve on offense. We still don't know if there will be a universal designated hitter again in 2021, but the Braves could be losing one of their most productive bats to free agency in Marcell Ozuna. Even without the DH, that could would leave room for Mancini in the Braves outfield. The 28-year-old missed all of 2020 while receiving treatment for colon cancer, but he's expected to be ready for the 2021 season and hit .291/.364/.535 with a career-high 35 home runs and 97 RBI in 154 games for the O's in 2019. As a late-round pick with little to no risk, you could do worse than Mancini as outfield depth, especially if he lands in a much more potent offense like the Braves.
