Washington Commanders impending free-agent offensive guard Brandon Scherff is unlikely to return to the team in 2022 for an eighth season. Scherff received the franchise tag in each of the last two years, and the five-time Pro Bowler would receive a 44% increase on last year's $18.04 million salary if Washington tagged him a third time. The former first-rounder's injury history and prohibitive cost likely mean he'll be moving on this offseason.
