Brandon Belt On The Bench Against Twins
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays first baseman/designated hitter Brandon Belt (hamstring) is out of Sunday's lineup against the Minnesota Twins. It shouldn't come as much of a surprise to fantasy managers after Belt was forced from Saturday's game early with a tight left hamstring. It's unclear what the results are of his MRI exam, but this is certainly an injury that could send Belt to the injured list. In his first year in Toronto, the 35-year-old veteran left-handed slugger is batting .263 (40-for-152) with 14 doubles, four home runs, 16 RBI and 18 runs scored in 180 trips to the plate and 48 games. He's been much better in eight games in June, going 8-for-27 (.296) with four doubles, two homers and four RBI, so hopefully he won't miss too much time. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is the DH and is hitting third, while Cavan Biggio is at first and batting ninth against Twins right-hander Louie Varland on Sunday.
