Bears Plan For Justin Fields To Be Their Starter
2 years agoWhen asked about Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields being the starter, general manager Ryan Poles said, "That's the plan right now." The Bears will continue to evaluate all of the quarterback options at the top of this year's draft class before making a firm decision, but they are currently expected to trade the No. 1 overall pick in April's draft. Alabama's Bryce Young and Ohio State's C.J. Stroud are the consensus top two QB prospects heading into this year's draft, but with the Bears invested in Fields as their franchise signal-caller, they are expected to pass on both Young and Stroud. The 23-year-old Fields nearly broke the NFL record for QB rushing yards in his second NFL season, and he finished with 2,242 passing yards, 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, adding eight rushing TDs. Fields has the potential to be one of the most dynamic QBs in the NFL, but he'll need more receiving weapons in order to do so.
