Bears Made A Push For Russell Wilson
4 years agoThe Chicago Bears had a clandestine meeting with general manager Ryan Pace and Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider in Fargo, North Dakota, that did not result in a trade for quarterback Russell Wilson, despite Chicago's best efforts. That led to the Bears signing veteran quarterback Andy Dalton on Tuesday. Wilson voiced his displeasure with the offense and front office this offseason, leading to trade speculation. However, the Seahawks decided they did not want to trade Wilson to the Bears, and it looks increasingly unlikely that he'll be dealt at this point. Making things more difficult is that Wilson has a full no-trade clause in his contract. Despite a second-half collapse after an MVP-caliber first half in 2020, Wilson will remain a high-end QB1 for fantasy managers if he remains in Seattle.
