Baker Mayfield Could Be Active On Thursday Night
2 years agoLos Angeles Rams quarterback Baker Mayfield could suit up for the Rams' Thursday Night Football game against the Las Vegas Raiders, but coach Sean McVay has still not decided who will start. John Wolford, who started in last week's loss to the Seahawks, is nursing a neck injury and is day-to-day. He got in a limited practice on Tuesday. McVay said he is "leaning towards" Mayfield being active, but he said it would be "unprecedented" to have a signal caller start a game just two days after joining a new team. Bryce Perkins is next in line if neither Wolford nor Mayfield is ready to go. Ordinarily, the Raiders would be a good team to start a fantasy QB against. Las Vegas' defense has allowed the third-most passing yards per game and the second-most fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks. But given the lack of certainty and the poor production by all three Rams quarterbacks throughout the season, it would be a bad idea to start any of them. Mayfield, whose skill set might fit in with McVay's offense, would be the best choice as a stash.
