Austin Wells Goes Deep, Swips A Bag On Tuesday
Austin Wells was busy during their dominant 12-3 victory over the San Diego Padres on Tuesday evening. Wells went 2-for-5 with a home run, five RBI, a stolen base, and two runs. In the seventh inning, Wells would tally his first RBI of the evening with an RBI single, scoring outfielder Jasson Dominguez. Later in the frame, Wells would cap off their victory with a grand slam. Through 32 games this season, Wells has struggled to find consistency but has continued to flash upside power as he has gone deep seven times and held a .220/.273/.486 line. He has tallied 23 RBI, which is currently the seventh-most in the American League. Given his role as the everyday backstop in a potent lineup, he remains a strong option in standard formats. He will look to stay hot on Wednesday, facing San Diego right-hander Dylan Cease.
