Austin Meadows Could Be Sent Down
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates rookie outfielder Austin Meadows is out of the lineup for the sixth time in the last seven games for Game 1 of a doubleheader on Saturday, and the Pirates are considering whether to send him down to the minors. Meadows still has a nice overall slash line of .298/.329/.477, but he's slumped of late and is hitting .233 (7-for-30) with no home runs or RBI in the month of July. Perhaps the team's top prospect could need some more seasoning in the minors and to play every day. He's still a must-own in dynasty leagues if he goes back to the farm.
