Austin Dillon has been penalized for his actions at Richmond Raceway this past weekend, as the sanctioning body has decided to revoke the Richard Childress Racing driver's playoff spot for winning the Cook Out 400. Dillon will now have to win one of the three remaining races in the regular season if he hopes to make the playoffs this year. He is still considered the winner at Richmond, though. Dillon and the No. 3 team were also penalized 25 driver points and 25 owner points for the actions at Richmond, and spotter Brandon Benesch has been suspended for the next three races. Richard Childress Racing has stated that it plans to appeal the penalties.--Jordan McAbee
