Despite his surprise win in the Xfinity race at Sonoma in June, don't expect much from Aric Almirola in Sunday's Charlotte ROVAL race. Not only has he finished 28th or worse in four of his five road course starts this year, he did finish all five of those races indicating that it was primarily a lack of speed rather than a lack of luck that led to his poor results. Almirola ranks third-worst amongst Cup full-timers on road courses this season with a speed percentile of 27.04%, which is only better than Harrison Burton and Ty Dillon.
