Anthony Bender Throws Another Two Scoreless Innings
4 years agoMiami Marlins rookie relief pitcher Anthony Bender provided another two scoreless innings in Friday's game against the New York Mets. He threw 21 pitches (14 strikes) to get his six outs. He did not allow a hit, facing just six batters while recording one strikeout. Bender has now started his big league career by throwing 7 2/3 scoreless innings over seven appearances, routinely making good hitters look bad in the process. He looks like he's working his way into more and more significant innings, and he could be looking at a future as a closer if he maintains this trajectory.
